We finally got an approval from DOH in Kona. We were held up even after we hired a Civil Engineer to submit an new septic system plan. Reason being the new plan was drawn up with the septic system inside the 1000 ft radius for a well. We had to make revision to relocate the septic system to the north of the site , outside the radius.We did not expect this delay with DOH since we were under the assumption that the existing septic system meant we could just reuse where it is located. As it turned out, the existing septic system would have to be moved anyway, it was even further inside that 1000ft radius.
The Sato Residence plans were resubmitted to the building department for their review. I was told that this will take 4-6 weeks. So here we are 2 months into the process with 2 more months to go.
